Kemp approves 2025-26 district handbooks

Staff Reports During the July 21 regular scheduled board of trustees meeting, the trustees approved the 2025-26 District Code of Conduct, District Student 11 handbook and the Athletic Handbook. No major changes were identified by the board, only small grammatical corrections.

Scurry-Rosser hires Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs

news@kaufmanherald.com Scurry-Rosser ISD has hired Melanie Bowers as their new Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs. “Bowers is an experienced leader with a proven history of developing student-cen- tered systems that foster innovative teaching and learning,” Scurry-Rosser ISD stated on social media.

Crandall approves development agreement with Home Depot

news@kaufmanherald.com The Crandall City Council approved an economic development and performance agreement with Home Depot during their regular meeting on Monday, July 21. Before the agreement was approved, there was a public hearing held with no one speaking on the agenda item.

Kaufman basketball player plays for TGCA All-Star team

Kaylee Wrenn was selected as an All-Star for the Texas Girls Coaches Association. The game was played Wednesday, July 16 at Arlington High School. There was a great crowd there to support Kaylee, including Kaufman Girls’ Coordinator Denver Stone, Head Volleyball Coach Jeff Maly along with the high school girls coaching staff were there to support Kaylee.
