Kaufman County Library recently hosted a chess tournament in early November with the help of Kaufman County Library Director Yasma Holland. On hand was Chessmaster of Kaufman, Jamaal Rudolph. Slav Chain was the senior runner-up and Lauren Aguilar was the junior runner-up. In charge of the tournament was Kaufman Chess Club Coordinator Robert Castro. Kaufman County discovered a security breach Oct. 20 affecting certain county systems, according to a Kaufman County press release. The county determined the breach began Oct. 17. The county has determined that some sensitive personal information was breached.

The Kaufman Homestead Day, held on Saturday, Oct. 25, drew more than 500 attendees and over 30 local vendors to the Kaufman County Fairgrounds for a full day of family fun, education and community connection.
