1948-2026

Catherine (Adelstein) Morris was born on May 31, 1948 in Kaufman, Texas and passed away on September 16, 2026. Catherine was the high school Homecoming Queen and later attended East Texas State University. She and her husband moved to Harlingen where she taught kindergarten to migrant workers’ children. She came back to Texas and gave birth to her daughter, Catherine Alias (known affectionately as “Cayte”). She went back to college and earned a degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in psychology. She and her husband, Tom Adelstein were major contributors to Unity of Dallas, often hosting very successful Prosperity Workshops and she later served Administer over ten years. She lived a full and rich life, always seeking to make a positive difference to the life of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Vivian Morris, and brother John Vernell. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Tommie Jo Morris Horn, and her husband, Robert. Daughter Catherine Alais Mullens, granddaughter Sevannah Evans, nieces Jennifer Knight, Molly Horn, Gretchen Samples, nephew Hunter Byers, best friend Grant Trevithick and wife Mirna, and a multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center, located at 1904 US-I75 E, Kaufman, Texas 75142 Her Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Unity of Dallas on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at 3.00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
