Kaufman County Detention Center passes jail standards

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office detention facility successfully passed all 600-plus requirements mandated by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. “Passing this annual inspection is essential to maintaining state certification, and this accomplishment reflects the exceptional standards upheld by our team,” Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers stated.

City of Kemp receives grant for park updates

BFTS Museum to host gardening program

The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum presents its second annual gardening program as a public service to area residents. The program is set for Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at 119 Silent Wings Blvd. in Terrell is free and open to the public.

VITA to provide free income tax preparation

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), sponsored by The Center in Kaufman, is providing free income tax preparation as tax season approaches in April. The Center, along with the IRA VITA program will prepare and e-file your tax return for free.
