DAR begins 250th Anniversary Celebration in Style

The National Society Daughters of the Americal Revolution (NSDAR), Neches River Chapter, celebrated the American Revolution and the upcoming 250th birthday of the nation on February 23 with a visit to The American Revolution Experience exhibit in Mabank. The exhibit, sponsored by the Sarah Maples Chapter NSDAR, presented storyboards, a raffle, activities and artifacts on the roots of the United States’ break with Great Britain and the people and events of the Revolutionary War.

Kemp seeks state grant for six Flock cams

Kemp City Council voted Feb. 10 to seek a state criminal justice grant through the governor’s office which would pay for six Flock-brand cameras to monitor vehicular and pedestrian traffic, according to Kemp Police Chief Curtis Kaloi.

Crandall enters good faith agreement with ESD

The Crandall City Councill struck a good faith agreement with the Emergency Services District after the announcement of a contract termination with the Crandall Volunteer Fire Department during their regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
