County kickstarts repairs for scoured bridge near Kemp

Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court voted March 24 to start the bid process to address repairing bridge scouring occurring on a structure along County Road 4036, which is just west of Kemp. Kaufman County Precinct 4 Commissioner Tommy Moore said the problem was identified in a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) report that found “a lot of water coming downstream and a lot of erosion under this bridge.” Moore said TxDOT didn’t recommend performing the work, but instead, “we got the ‘You will fix this’,” Moore stated.

City of Kemp announces lineup for Wildflower Festival

Scurry-Rosser ISD hosts ‘Touch a Truck’ event

Scurry-Rosser ISD hosted their Third Annual ‘Touch a Truck’ event on Thursday, March 12 at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School. The event allows professionals from different careers to bring their work vehicle to the school and discuss different professions with school students and how they utilize their vehicles in their line of work.
