April 25-June 27: Kaufman Poor Farm Spring Market will be held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The Spring Market takes place from 9 a.m.

Phil Urso, originally from Scurry, now in Brookings, SD, was honored during the CAFES Prexy Council Ag Week banquet last week at South Dakota State University. The banquet is part of a week full of student-run events celebrating all things agriculture. Urso was named CAFES Teacher of the Year for his dedication to students in and out of the classroom.

Kaufman ISD named their Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year. The district selected Torrie Deville, fourth-grade teacher at Phillips Elementary School as the Elementary Teacher of the Year. Kristi Arrington, sixthgrade World History teacher at O.P. Norman Junior High School was named the Secondary Teacher of the Year. These two educators will advance to the Regional Teacher of the Year selection process.
