news@kaufmanherald.com The Scurry-Rosser Lady Wildcats track and field athletes competed at the Area meet in Keene on Friday, April 17. Four individual athletes and two teams will be heading to compete in the Regional competition in Huntsville on May 1 and 2.

The Kaufman Lions baseball squad took down the Terrell Tigers on the road on Tuesday, April 14. In the battle of the Highway 34 rivalry, Kaufman took this contest by a score of 9-1.

The team 4x100-meter relay team of Elijah Rose, Christian Scott, Jayden Scott and Matthew Clowers broke a Kaufman High School record at the District track meet on April 10. Their time of 41.98 seconds was good enough for sixth at the meet and broke a 2009 record of 42.23 seconds previously set by Ayron Miles, Kendall Wrenn, RJ Turner and Kailion Hughey.

The Crandall Lady Pirates softball squad locked up third place in the district with their win over the Red Oak Lady Hawks at home on Thursday, April 16. Crandall won a wild one as they outscored Red Oak 21-12 in their final regular season contest.

The Kemp Lady Yellowjackets dropped their district rivalry game to the Mabank Lady Panthers on Friday, April 17 at home. The two teams played a long, offensively charged game that ended in a Mabank victory, 17-15.

news@kaufmanherald.com The Kaufman Lady Lions roared back after falling behind early to beat the Terrell Lady Tigers on Tuesday, April 14. A late surge from Terrell wasn’t enough as the Lady Lions held on for the 10-9 victory.

Kaufman County Grand Jury returned 26 indictments April 17. Indictment information obtained from the District Clerk’s office does not include ages or addresses of defendants.

April 25-June 27: Kaufman Poor Farm Spring Market will be held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The Spring Market takes place from 9 a.m.
