Kemp angler competes at State tournament

news@kaufmanherald.com Kemp High School Fishing Team angler Connor Stevens recently competed at the Texas High School Bass Association State Tournament on Lake Conroe May 31-June 1. On day one, Stevens brough in three solid fish, weighing 11.43 lbs.

This past week was a good one for your old outdoor scribe. I’ve enjoyed some red hot catfish catching, spent time setting up a corn feeder on my little place in hopes of keeping a sounder of hog from ripping my heavily laden pear tree apart and wrapped things up with a trip to Nacogdoches for a deer hunting show presented by the East Texas Chapter of the Dallas Safari Club. So come along, let me recap the week, I think you might enjoy backtracking my trail with me.

More than 16,600 reports of identity and information theft have been submitted to the BBB Scam TrackerSM, with monetary losses continuing to rise, according to a new study by the Better Business Bureau’s International Investigations Initiative.

This season, I was truly blessed to coach in the United Football League (UFL) with the San Antonio Brahmas, serving alongside Payton Pardee in his first head coaching role. Coaching at the professional level, with such a passionate and resilient group of athletes and staff was a privilege I will always treasure.

Crandall reappoints Rogers as Mayor Pro-Tem

The Crandall City Council reappointed Scott Rogers as Mayor Pro-Tem during their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 2. Rogers was in the position currently and his term in office expires in May 2026.
