Kemp City Council approves EDC forgivable loan

Kemp City Council voted Dec. 9 to approve an action of the Kemp Economic Development Corp. (EDC) to provide a forgivable loan not to exceed $35,000 to Providence Equipment to assist the retail operation locate a store on the eastern edge of town along U.S. Highway 175, in return for job creation.

Casino Night Gala scheduled to support domestic abuse shelter

Forney community comes together for needy families

The Forney Chamber of Commerce, Forney Legacy Project, and Forney Education Foundation, with the support of local businesses and community members, successfully provided full Thanksgiving meals and supplemental groceries to 250 families in need.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office visited the No. 1 BFTS Museum to give a drone demonstration to students from Rising Aviation High School on Friday, Nov. 21. These students - many already holding a pilot’s license or drone certification - got an inside look at how drones are used in real-world law enforcement operations.

Kemp ISD trustees heard the final draft copy of the school district’s 2024-25 financial audit for that fiscal year, which ended June 30, on which the district received an unmodified or clean opinion on its financial statements.
