Kemp ISD gets draft of 2024-25 financial audit

Kemp ISD trustees heard the final draft copy of the school district’s 2024-25 financial audit for that fiscal year, which ended June 30, on which the district received an unmodified or clean opinion on its financial statements.

Kaufman County experiences security breach

Kaufman County discovered a security breach Oct. 20 affecting certain county systems, according to a Kaufman County press release. The county determined the breach began Oct. 17. The county has determined that some sensitive personal information was breached.

Library hosts chess tournament

Kaufman County Library recently hosted a chess tournament in early November with the help of Kaufman County Library Director Yasma Holland. On hand was Chessmaster of Kaufman, Jamaal Rudolph. Slav Chain was the senior runner-up and Lauren Aguilar was the junior runner-up. In charge of the tournament was Kaufman Chess Club Coordinator Robert Castro. the district and loaded the donations on a truck and then delivered them to local Forney food pantries. When all the donations were counted, students and staff donated more than 10,000 items.
