The GETCAP Energy Assistance Mobile Delivery Unit will be in Kaufman County on Wednesday and Thursday, February 4-5 at the Kaufman Civic Center. The Unit will be there from 8:30 p.m.

The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum presents its second annual gardening program as a public service to area residents. The program is set for Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at 119 Silent Wings Blvd. in Terrell is free and open to the public.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), sponsored by The Center in Kaufman, is providing free income tax preparation as tax season approaches in April. The Center, along with the IRA VITA program will prepare and e-file your tax return for free.

The City of Kaufman is excited to welcome Chief Brian Watson as Fire Chief. With a strong commitment to public safety and service excellence, Chief Watson joins the city at a time of continued growth and opportunity for the Kaufman Fire Department. Chief Watson brings more than 27 years of fire and EMS leadership experience, most recently serving as Chief of the Training Division for the Shreveport Fire Department. Chief Watson’s first day with the city was January 20.

Kaufman High School teacher Michael Trammell was named 2026 Kaufman ISD Teacher of the Year on Jan. 14.

Kaufman County Grand Jury returned 48 indictments Jan. 16.
