The Kaufman City Lakes Park held their grand reopening on Friday, Sept. 5. The park includes an all-inclusive playground, new walking trail and disc golf course. Members of the Kaufman City Council, Kaufman Chamber of Commerce, City of Kaufman staff, Kaufman Lions Club, donors, First Responders and many other attendees were on hand to celebrate the grand reopening of the park. Scurry Rosser High School announced their 2025 Homecoming Court nominees on Friday, Sept. 12. Homecoming Queen nominees are Alexis Elliott, Preslie Goodrich, Macie Miller, Addison Upchurch and Alyssa Yates. The Homecoming King nominees are Jacob Cypert, Nash Ferguson, Mason Muncrief, Caleb Peavy and AJ Stewart. Homecoming activities will take place at halftime during their Sept. 19 game.
The Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Donne, its longtime service dog, who died peacefully on Sept. 4, at the age of 12.
The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake has received a $7,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets in Henderson and Kaufman counties. Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier.
