A memorial program honoring John Baker was held on Saturday, 6 September 2025, at the Baker Cemetery in Tolosa, Kaufman County, Texas. John Baker was a Veteran of the War of 1812, a Veteran of the Battle of New Orleans, a Texas Ranger, an Early Settler of Kaufman County, a Veteran of the Battle of Plum Creek, a Gonzale Minute Man, and a Defender of the Republic of Texas.
