Body The Crandall Lady Pirates dropped their road contest to the Coppell Cowgirls on Friday, Aug. 21.

Body Kemp Yellowjacket cross country athlete Arnie Perez took home third place at the Kaufman Run with the Lions Meet. Perez finished third overall and set a new personal record with a time of 16:05.

Body I guess most of us outdoor types have equipment that we’ve become fond of over the years. For some, it might be an old outboard motor that was acquired years ago that just refuses to wear out.

Body The Kaufman Lions tennis squad had an amazing week. Kaufman’s varsity squad competed in five matches including Van, Forney, North Forney, Alvarado and Midlothian Heritage. Additionally, the JV had a match against Corsicana.

Body The Kaufman tennis team kicked off its season with a victory over Ennis. With much anticipation for the season opener, the Lion Netters were eager to compete.

Body news@kaufmanherald.com The Kemp Junior High School cheer squad brought home plenty of hardware after competing at UCA Cheer Camp. Kemp took home first place in camp routine as Overall Champions.

Body The Kaufman Lions wrapped up their summer Kaufman Lion Football Camp in late July. The Lions saw 142 campers out on the field in July working on building fundamentals and competing every day.

Body Through my many years spent on the water and in the woods enjoying my passions of hunting and catching fish, one if the absolutes truths I’ve learned is the fact that, “It isn’t over until it’s over”.

Body As athletes gear up for the upcoming fall season, many have stayed active over the summer, competing in area tennis tournaments. Kaufman is a member of the East Texas Tennis Circuit, where local schools host a tournament every weekend.
