Wildcats win district opener over Rice

news@kaufmanherald.com The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats baseball team won their district opener over the Rice Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 3 on the road. The Wildcats dominated at the plate against the Bulldogs as they defeated Rice, 22-2 in five innings.

Kemp archery takes third place at tournament

The Kemp High School archery team took third place out of 21 teams at the 2026 Coach Ricky Albus “Live at Full Draw” Scholarship Tournament in Arlington on Friday, Feb. 27. Preston Sullivan finished first overall with a score of 292, earning a $1,000 scholarship.

The woods were just beginning to turn the pale shades of green that mark the early stages of spring. Elm and willows were beginning to bud and redbud trees were already showing their spring colors.
