This past weekend, Kaufman County Officials presented a proclamation for the 100th year of the Kaufman County Showgrounds at the Kaufman County Junior Livestock Show. For a century, the Kaufman County Showgrounds has provided a gathering place for agricultural exhibitions, livestock shows, fairs, youth programs, civic events and celebrations that reflect the heritage, values and hard work of the people of Kaufman County.

Primary election sees higher turnout

news@kaufmanherald.com The 2026 Primary Election saw a higher turnout in Kaufman County than in 2024. Voters returned to the poll four percent more as Kaufman County saw 26,936 people head to the polls.

Kaufman County burn ban lifted

The burn ban in Kaufman County has been lifted as of Sunday, March 8 according to the Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office. With the burn ban now lifted, outdoor burning rules still apply that were put in place by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that can be found at https://www.kaufmancounty.net/493/Outdoor- Burning.

Kemp HS sophomore dies in crash
