Kemp ISD recognizes 'Band Dad' Johnny Wilson

Body
Kemp ISD recognized Johnny Wilson - a dedicated Kemp Band parent and volunteer since the 2009–10 school year. His children — Brittnee, Zac, Connor, Ben and Dylan — were all proud members of the band program. Even after all his children graduated, Mr. Wilson has continued to generously give his time and energy to support the organization and its students.

FROM THE BLEACHERS

Body
Public education is under attack, even though states are legally required to provide an equitable and adequate education for every child. As an educator, I’ve learned to listen to older people.

Kemp ISD celebrates Academy graduates

Body
Kemp ISD recently celebrated two Kemp Academy graduates on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 with the honoring of Melissa Arellano and Diego Trevino-Rodriguez. Melissa graduated from Kemp Academy today, and she did it through focus, grit and a whole lot of determination. She worked hard to get the job done, and now she’s setting her sights on enrolling in a Vet Tech program to pursue a career working with animals. Diego graduated from Kemp Academy and moved straight into his new career in the sheet metal industry. He’s already hard at work learning a skilled trade in welding and machine work, building a strong foundation for his future.
