Rob Farquharson is an East Texas Native, former prosecutor, and current Deputy Division Chief in the Texas Attorney General’s Office. In his current role, Rob has stopped doctors from performing transgender medical treatment on children, defeated a Biden Border NGO in the Texas Supreme Court, fought to keep men out of women’s sports and stood-up to defend and protect pro-life pregnancy clinics.

A fun event for the community, the repair shop invites children to bring their favorite stuffed animals for a special check-up with the Health Occupation students.

Carson McCreary, a 4-H member of Kaufman County 4-H from Terrell, was awarded a $500 Calf Scramble purchase certificate at the 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. During each of the Stock Show’s 23 rodeo performances, 20 students compete to catch one of 10 calves for the opportunity to earn a $500 heifer purchase certificate. Students who successfully complete the Calf Scramble and exhibit their heifer at the 2027 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo are then eligible to compete for scholarships ranging from $500 to $16,000.

Storm season is right around the corner, and East Texans know all too well how quickly severe weather can strike. In 2025, our region experienced multiple rounds of strong storms, including confirmed tornadoes, damaging winds, and widespread hail which left homes, businesses, and vehicles damaged across several counties.

1958-2026 Glen Allen Johnson, 67, of Scurry passed away on January 27,2026, at home. Glen was born on November 24, 1958 to Richard Lee Johnson and Francis Diane Poling, in McKinney, TX.
