KCSO wins tug of war tournament

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office participated in a Tug of War competition presented by CareFlite on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Terrell. Proudly sponsored by the Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center, the Sheriff’s Office team showed outstanding strength and teamwork—ultimately pulling their way to first place in the tournament. Kaufman girls win Mabank tournament

news@kaufmanherald.com The Kaufman Lady Lions varsity basketball team took home first place at the Mabank varsity basketball tournament Nov. 20-22. Kaufman took on the Athens Lady Hornets in the first game on Thursday, taking a victory over the Lady Hornets by a final score of 55-40.

Hunting seasons are well under way and chances are good many of you already have a freezer well stocked with everything from venison steaks and ground meat to dove breasts. Let’s not let all this tasty meat get freezer burned.
