Tractor Supply donates to local hometown heroes

Terrell Tractor Supply’s check presentation to the Terrell Fire Department in honor of National Hometown Heroes Day on Nov. 1. Tractor Supply celebrated National Hometown Heroes Day on Nov. 1 across all of its 2,300+ stores nationwide, and each store donated $500 to a local police, fire or veteran organization, totaling more than $1 million in a single day. In Texas, 249 Tractor Supply stores donated $124,500 to 352 local organizations.

Terrell Garden Club celebrates Arbor Day

The Terrell Garden Club partnered up with students at Kaufman ISD to plant six trees at Phillips Elementary School to celebrate Arbor Day on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Members of the Terrell Garden Club, along with elementary school students and staff, planted two Magnolia trees, two Vitex trees and two Bamboo trees. Additional photos on 10A.

Mighty Lion Band advances to State!

The Kaufman High School Mighty Lion Band earned a trip to the prestigious UIL 5A State Marching Contest, following an outstanding performance at the Area C Marching Band Finals this past weekend. The Mighty Lions secured the second- place position at the Area competition, solidifying their spot as one of the top 5A marching bands in the area and earning the right to compete at the state level.
