Kaufman County Library receives grant

Body The Friends of the Kaufman County Library was awarded $3,500 from the Texas Library Association and H-E-B Summer at the Library Grant and $2,500 from the TVEC Charitable Foundation Grant to help fund the library’s annual Summer Reading Program.

Kaufman junior named to Dean’s List

Body Collin Baker, a rising junior from Kaufman, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2026 semester at Maryville College, located in Maryville, Tennessee.. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time students whose academic performance was distinguished in the previous semester.

Water Fun Day at Kemp City Park

Body The City of Kemp hosted a Water Fun Day at Kemp City Park on Saturday, June 27. Along with the dedication of the International Peace Pole ceremony, there were water slides, water games and activities, free treats and refreshments, along with music and community fun.

County culvert to help road drain near golf course

Body russell@themonitor.net June 30, Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court approved Precinct 4’s Road and Bridge Department to partially go on private property near Peeltown to install a culvert system to replace a 40-yearold setup that its commissioner said is causing problems.
