CUDDLY has blessed the Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center with a generous donation of approximately 2,000 pounds of dog food, along with adoption bags to help dogs as they head to their forever homes.

Kaufman County Grand Jury returned 42 indictments March 20. Indictment information obtained from the District Clerk’s office does not include ages or addresses of defendants.

The City of Kemp is excited to announce the return of the Kemp Wildflower Festival, scheduled for Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kaufman High School students will be hosting their Gatsby Gala at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10 at Kaufman High School.

Following their spectacular fall production of The Little Mermaid, the talented cast and crew of the Kaufman High School Theatre didn’t just take their bows—they took action. Through the generosity of their audiences and the hard work of the students, the company raised over $900 to support the Disney Conservation Fund. This past week, theatre students had the unique opportunity to personally deliver the donation at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It was an inspiring moment for the theater stars to see how their art can directly impact global efforts to protect animals and the planet. They raised over $900 for wildlife and habitat conservation and drew inspiration for their underwater adventure in The Little Mermaid.

Kaufman ISD will be hosting The Lion’s Cup: Coffee with the Superintendent on March 31 at 8:30 a.m. in the Kaufman ISD Administration Building.

I know that as a lifelong outdoors person that loves hunting and fishing, I’m lucky to also enjoy cooking the fruits of my outings. As a teenager, my uncle, who was a great ‘camp cook,’ spent a lot of time teaching me the basics of cooking fish and game and the rest…well I learned through trial and error these past six decades.

While scams affect people of all ages, fraudsters often tailor their tactics toward seniors through impersonation, emotional manipulation, and high-pressure requests for money.

March 14: The 3rd Annual Gunny’s Clay Shoot “Pulling Clays for Veterans” will take place on Saturday, March 14 at the Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell, located at 15950 State Highway 205. The event will benefit the Veteran Resource Center.

The Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center will be hosting a drive-thru vaccine clinic on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
