The Scurry-Rosser Ladycats blazed past Grandview for the bidistrict volleyball championship last Tuesday in three games, 25-8, 25-22, 25-20.

That pitted Scurry-Rosser against Troy for the area title on Thursday.

The Ladycats were eliminated in a tight three-game match, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22.

The Ladycats ended the year as district and bidistrict champs, including an undefeated record in district play, 14-0, a season record of 32-5 and a ranking of ninth in the state in Class 3A.

The team includes Rebecca Jestis, Kristin Bishop, Katie Taliaffero, Bri Archer, Hannah Word, Emily Story, Reagyn Williams and Hannah Mote.

They are coached by Michael Babovec with assistants Taryn Mitchell and Michelle Forsman.
