District champs

The Scurry-Rosser Ladycat volleyball team has completed an undefeated district season. They dominated district 18-3A with an impressive 14-0 record.

The Ladycats, a Class 3A team, have beaten 10 Class 4A schools and two Class 5A schools. They boast an overall season record of 31-4 and are ranked ninth in the state in Class 3A.

The Ladycats are led by junior Kristin Bishop who has over 500 kills for the season, as well as senior Bri Archer who has over 200 kills.

Freshman setter Rebecca Jestis has been sensational with over 1,000 assists for the season. Seniors Katie Taliaferro, Reagyn Williams, sophomore Hannah Mote, and freshmen Emily Story and Hannah Word have been key contributors to the success of the team.

The Ladycats played their first playoff game Tuesday against Grandview, with the winner to face either Troy or Groesbeck for the area championship.
