The Crandall Pirates varsity boys basketball team has been playing well against some top-notch competition.
In a non-district game vs. Kaufman on Dec. 6, Crandall won by a count of 51-39. The Pirates were led offensively in this game by Chaz Wallace (13 points) and Ethan Ortega (10 points).
Then, in a tournament hosted by Mount Pleasant High School, on Dec. 8 through Dec. 10, Crandall posted a 2-2 record.
The results of the games that the team played in the tournament are as follows:
Crandall 66 Azle 51-- A key player in this game for Crandall was Ty Hurndon (10 points and 13 rebounds).
Denton Braswell 55 Crandall 42—Crandall was led in scoring in this game by Eli Cannefax (nine points).
Crandall 68 Princeton 45—Top performers for Crandall in this game were Wallace (20 points), Ortega (10 points), and Hurndon (10 points and 12 rebounds).
Mount Pleasant 61 Crandall 33—Main contributors for Crandall in this game were Luke Moffitt (12 points) and Ortega (10 points).
