The Crandall Lady Pirates varsity basketball team is battling for a playoff spot in District 14-5A.
After a tight 44-41 overtime loss to Red Oak on Jan 10 at Crandall High School, the Lady Pirates came back with a purpose on Jan. 13 and crushed Ennis by a count of 74-34 at Ennis High School.
With these results, Crandall is now 5-1 in District 14-5A play. After the games on Jan. 13, the Lady Pirates currently sit in second place in the District 14-5A standings.
Crandall’s main offensive weapons against Ennis were Kennedi Holmes (16 points), Tatum West (14 points), Kenly Cox (13 points), and Sydney White (eight points.
In the Red Oak game, notable offensive efforts for Crandall were produced by West (17 points), Mckinlee Evans (nine points), and Cox (five points).
