Thank you, veterans

Thank you, veterans

As the proud daughter and niece of U.S. Army veterans, and the step-daughter and granddaughter of two World War II Navy men, I try to stop every Veterans Day to say one simple phrase.

Thank you.

In honor of our area veterans on Monday, we have been informed of two local events, the Kaufman Independent School District choir concert at 10 a.m. at the Fine Arts Center, and an open house at Paul Murrey Ford that afternoon. The open house will feature some of the many vehicles and military memorabilia from the Fox and Co. Military Museum, and everyone is welcome to stop by to see the pieces on display.

Of course, veterans are the guests of honor at these events, but it would be awesome if many of us could show up as a small way of expressing our gratitude for their defense of the many freedoms we enjoy today.

Thanks for reading.
