Margaret Leigh Hopkins Baldwin passed from the earth on Nov. 23, 2018 from a short battle with breast cancer. She was born in Van Horn to Gaines Birchel Hopkins, Jr. and Martha Faine Bricker on Oct. 30, 1970. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lacey Elizabeth Hopkins. After her sister passed in 1978 and her father passed in 1980, she and her mother moved to San Antonio in 1983. She went to Theodore Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1989. She worked and put herself through college, graduating from the University of Texas-San Antonio with a bachelor of psychology degree. She moved with her mother to Kaufman and that is where she met her husband, Bradley Clark Baldwin, on Jan. 29, 2000. They were married at Kaufman Church of Christ on May 28, 2000. They had a beautiful baby girl on April 2, 2003 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. She and her husband loved and joked all the time. The last thing she did to him was stick out her tongue. She loved her daughter with all her heart. She would brag about how smart she was. Bethany wants to go to college to be a psychologist. Margaret loved her family and her friends with all her heart. She also loved her dogs and cats more than anything. She also loved to read and write and cook. Not only does she leave behind her husband and daughter but also two half-sisters, Hazel Mae Trigg and husband Raymond of New Mexico and Sue Roberts of New Mexico. She also leaves behind her soul sister, Teresa McCord and Steve of Mabank. She is with her heavenly father up in heaven. The memorial service will be held at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman between 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. The arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home.
