Walmart on track for April opening

Posted: Thursday, February 6, 2014 12:00 am

Walmart is on track for an April 23 grand opening, and though so far only Whataburger has committed to opening a store in the Kings Fort Market Center, developer Jim Meara said he's received interest from other national chains and retailers.

Kaufman Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Lee Ayres said that though the original opening date of Walmart has been pushed back two days, construction on the 159,000-square-foot building is right on track.

I agree about the Aldi's! I'd do back flips if a Panda Express built a store here! Too many Mexican restaurants, and not one good Asian food place in town. :)

Kaufman REALLY needs an Aldi's. I know of so many people (myself included) that make the drive to Mesquite and Rockwall to shop there. There isn't a time I go to the Mesquite Aldi's that I don't bump into somebody from out here.
