The Lions Club of Kaufman work each year to serve the community, responding to local challenges. On Jan. 17, Kaufman’s Junior High Leo’s Club inducted its first members during their first annual charter dinner.
With successful Lions Club programs on the high school and adult levels, Kaufman ISD chose to introduce their middle school students to the same opportunity to serve earlier this year. Their official induction was held during their charter night where students received dinner and memorabilia.
Kaufman Lions Club Liaison Greg Parsons led the ceremony. Former District Governor for District 2x-1 Esmeralda Rodriquez presented the club president with the official charter plaque. Head of Leo’s for District 2x-1 John Wicker presented sponsor patches and pins. At ceremony, 34 members were inducted.
Officers include President Harper Jordan, Vice President Catalina Lopez, Secretary Claudia Salazar, Treasurer Luke Taylor, Historian Hugo Vicuna, and Reporter Yahel Lopez.
Members include April Ayala, Aiden Bean, Baron Bryan, Lucy Byrne, Avie Clickner, Addison Clopton, Averie Clopton, Rush Dearing, Sophia Drake, Faith Flores, Cayden Fowler, Cloe Griffis, Kylie Hall, Jordyn Hicks, Emily Hopkins, Robert Kearns, Danielle Lara, Braelyn Leftwich, Giselle Martinez, Morgan Merritt, Nicholas Morales, Ally Owen, Kathryn Peterman, Makenzie Phillips, Emma Reynolds, Kylie Smith, Blake Wallace and Kimberly Zamarripa.
