Kaufman Parks and Rec Board hosted their second annual Halloween 5K on Saturday. After bad weather in October, Kaufman Parks and Rec rescheduled the run for Feb. 11.
The temperature was 30 degrees when the race kicked off at 8 a.m. Despite the freezing temperatures, approximately 75 runners attended the event in all age groups.
Starbucks of Kaufman and Raising Cane’s Chicken of Terrell attended and provided hot coffee and goodies to those that came. The judges picked three winners for the costume contest. Some notable costumes were Forrest Gump, a Mexican fighter, a foot, a soldier and a police officer.
The Parks and Rec Board was thankful to Raising Cane’s Chicken for providing the gift baskets to the winners, and to all that attended to make the 2023 5K a success.
