The Kaufman team swept through the championship bracket Friday to win the state 7-on-7 Division Two football championship in College Station.

After winning all three games in its pool Thursday, the Lions won all five games Friday to take the title.

Kaufman defeated Somerset 32-27 in the final Friday afternoon.

The team beat Wylie 24-13 to open the day and edged Silsbee 34-38 in overtime. The Lions stopped Cameron 38-18 to set up a battle with perennial power Argyle, which Kaufman won 28-21 to reach the finals.
