Kaufman County officials break ground on new sheriff’s substation in Forney

Kaufman County officials (from left) Justin Terry, Greg Pharris, Mike Hunt, Skeet Phillips, Terry Barber, Ken Cates, Hal Richards, Bryan Beavers, Erleigh Wiley, Carlos Guerra, Greg Blazek and Cody Craig celebrate the groundbreaking for Kaufman County’s new sheriff’s substation in Forney.

Kaufman County is one of the fastest growing communities in Texas, and with growth comes a need to expand law enforcement’s outreach. On Dec. 6, the county broke ground for a new sheriff’s substation in Forney.

The substation was approved by Kaufman voters in the 2019 facility bonds election. Not only will the new addition provide improved coverage for the west side of the county, but the facility will house classroom space for workspace development as part of the Forney ISD Career Education and Technology (CET) program. The substation will also offer law enforcement training opportunities.
