Kaufman will have city council and school board elections in May, as will the city of Crandall.

Filing deadline for a place on the ballot was Friday, and each entity drew enough candidates for contested races.

Running for the Kaufman City Council are the three incumbents, Barry Ratcliffe, Charles Gillenwater and Jeff Council, joined by Roy Ferrell and Chad Martin.

The two incumbents filed for seats on the school board, Linda Mott and Chip Langston, and were joined by Wendy Eubanks Adams.

Scurry-Rosser also has a contested school board election with incumbents Nancy Duggan and Jeremy Hatcher filing along with Jimmy Weaver and Jana Griffin.

For the Crandall school board, incumbents Mike Wood and Stacie Warren have filed for the two positions.

For the Crandall city council, four persons have filed for three positions. Incumbents Shannon Barnes and David Lindsey have filed for reelection, and Tim Atkins, who was appointed to an unexpired term, has filed. Shane Croker has also filed.
