The Crandall Lady Pirates softball team lost to Red Oak (16-6) and Ennis (12-10) in District 14-5A play on April 11 and April 14 at Red Oak High School and Crandall High School respectively.
After these results, Crandall’s record stands at 11-18 overall and 5-5 in District 14-5A play.
In this game, Red Oak’s explosive offense scored 16 runs on 16 hits. They Lady Hawks scored six runs in the second inning, three in the third, three in the fourth, one in the fifth, and three in the sixth to secure the win.
Notable hitters for Crandall in this game were Madyson Bass (two hits), Taylor Smith (three hits and three RBIs), Kodie Epperson (two hits and one RBI), Hannah Jones (one hit and one RBI), and McKinley Hankins (one hit and one RBI).
In the Ennis game, an eight-run seventh inning helped the Lady Lions rally to defeat the Lady Pirates.
Through five innings in this game, Crandall led 10-4. However the Lady Lions stormed back in their final at bat to win.
The offensive leaders for Crandall in this game were Bass (one hit and one RBI), Taylor Smith (three hits and one RBI), Epperson (two hits and two RBIs), Melianna Leija (two hits and one RBI), Jayce Gore (one hit), Jones (two hits and two RBIs), Raylee Mask (one hit) and Hankins (two hits and one RBI).
