Camp Gladiator will host a Miles for Meals 5K on the morning of Oct. 26 prior to the Kaufman Scarecrow Festival.

Part of the proceeds from the run will go toward local organization The Center in order to aid its efforts to feed families on Thanksgiving. Participants will also have the opportunity to donate food items on the day of the race. The Center says the most needed food items are boxed stuffing, canned pumpkin, green beans, canned yams, corn bread mix and chicken broth.

This is the first Miles for Meals 5K in Kaufman in several years as construction has prevented the run from occurring for the last several.

The run will start and finish at 215 W. Mulberry St. beginning at 7 a.m. Race day registration will be $30 per adult while early registrations through Oct. 17 are $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 4-10. Children under three years old are free. Registration can be handled online at getmeregistered.com/milesformeals5k.
