What does “Caring for America” mean to you? To the Kaufman County Republican Women, this looks like serving and showing appreciation throughout the community. Since January, KCRW members have had the privilege of volunteering for Kaufman County’s Meals on Wheels program by delivering hot meals and beverages to our local senior citizens. Caring for America can also be an act of kindness and what better way to be selfless than serving a child in need? April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, so with the permissions of the Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County, the ladies of KCRW were able to furnish and redecorate a child’s bedroom. These ladies turned a bedroom that once reminded the little girl of anything but happiness, into a beautiful place where she can be a normal child who loves cat whiskers and art. This was truly a humbling experience and we hope to do this again soon. A special thank you to the family and the Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County for making this possible. There are men and women that serve our community everyday through their professions. KCRW wanted to show a special appreciation in May to Kaufman County Law Enforcement in honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Month. From showing support by attending the Kaufman County National Police Week Memorial Day Ceremony to delivering goodies to each law enforcement agency/ office throughout the county. What does Caring for America mean to you?
