Kemp’s Yasmine Rogers has punched her ticket to the UIL State Track and Field Meet.
She won the regional title in the triple jump event to earn a trip to the State Meet. Her winning jump at the Class 3A Region III Track and Field Meet on April 28 ad April 29 in Waco covered 38’1.25”. The distance of this memorable jump is a new KHS record.
Rogers has found a good rhythm in the triple jump event. So, look for Yasmine to challenge for a medal at the state track and field meet.
Also, Rogers scored for Kemp in the high jump event with a sixth-place finish at 5’0”.
The Scurry-Rosser track and field team was also well represented at the Class 3A Region III Meet.
Some of the best performers for Scurry-Rosser at this regional meet were as follows:
Ambralee McWhorter: third place finish in the pole vault (9’6”).
Ralph Miller: sixth place in the high jump (6’2) and sixth place in the long jump (21’8.75”).
Charlie Keever: sixth place finish in the pole vault (13’0”).
4X400 relay: finished in fifth place (3:32.63)—team of Keever, Miller, Cayden Hill, and Bryce Chambers.

Keever: (300-meter hurdles, pole vault, 4X200 relay, and 4X400 relay), Miller: (4X400 relay long jump, high jump, and 4X200 relay) Brynton Hock (4X100 relay) Lee Jestis (4X100 relay and 4X200 relay), Garrett Mead (4X100 relay), Chambers: (triple jump, 4X200 relay, and 4X400 relay), and Hill: (4x100 relay and 4X400 relay).
The UIL State Track and Field Meet is scheduled to take place on May 11 through May 13 at the University of Texas in Austin.
