The Kaufman Police Department and its first responder partners host National Night Out for the tenth year on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 6-9 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church gym at 3401 N. Houston St.

The police will furnish all the food and drinks including hot dogs and popcorn. There will be games to play and plenty of giveaways, including crime prevention resource materials.

The Kaufman High School Jazz Band will provide the entertainment, and the new Kaufman ISD Literacy Lab will be on hand.

The theme is a going away party for drugs and crime in our neighborhoods.

The event is designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners.

The event, traditionally held on the courthouse square, is relocated this year due to construction.
