The Sixth Annual Mental Health Expo hosted by the Kaufman County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at O.P. Norman Junior High, 3701 S. Houston St. in Kaufman.

Edie Bakker will be the special guest speaker.

Bakker has an amazing and triumphant story of freedom, redemption, and recovery from abuse, neglect, betrayal, infidelity and loss. She was severely mentally ill with bipolar, depression and dissociative identity disorder for 20 years. She is completely integrated and has been living in recovery for seven years.

Bakker holds a bachelor’s in anthropology and has written three books. “Crocodile Set Free” is the story of her mental illness.

The expo includes snacks, exhibits, prizes, music and fun.
