The Kaufman County Master Gardeners will host a spring seminar on “Texas Shade Gardens to Texas Tough Top 50” on Saturday, March 10 at the First United Methodist Church, 414 W. Broad Street, Forney.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the program will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $15 if pre-registered or $20 at the door.

The speaker will be Steven Chamblee, horticulturist, and the program will be on Texas shade gardens to assist novice shade gardeners with the perils and pitfalls of shade gardening along with the Texas Tough Top 50, focusing on native and adapted plants for Texas gardens.

There will also be a silent auction and refreshments. There will be one general CEU given to private pesticide applicators.

Also, mark calendars for the Master Gardener plant sale that will take place on Saturday, April 14 at 9 a.m. at the Kaufman County South Annex, 3003 S. Washington Street, Kaufman at the corner of Hwy. 34 South.
